Short Description of the Area: Kingsville is a small city in south Texas, in the coastal bend region of the state (the horn on the south side of Texas). This is a rural area with a nearly tropical climate, and fairly low population overall, most of it north, in Corpus Christi, or south, in Brownsville or McAllen. Kleberg County and the county south, Kenedy County, are among the least populated places in Texas. The area is partly protected from coastal storms by a thin layer of barrier islands, which create a series of narrow oceanside bays, with some deeper inland bays. This gives a lot of waterfront for boating, sailing, and other water sports. This does not mean that there is nothing to do! Off hours activities may take some travel, however.
